Mark Lewis
A Sense of the End from 1996 is one of two works from Lewis’ oeuvre that was never made into an edition. Another meta-cinematic meditation, it is a film (shown as an installation) made up of six alternative endings of a single imaginary film, complete with dynamic credits and a climactic soundtrack that adds further drama to the work’s “sense of the end”. It is often shown alongside an eponymous series of still photographs taken from these various final scenes.
