The Cage refers to the prosecution of social activists in Ukraine. In its form and size, it equals a standard cage for defendants in the courtroom. The Cage refers to the prosecution of social activists in Ukraine. In its form and size, it equals a standard cage for defendants in the courtroom. Knitted in textile, it operates as a metaphor for the lost and stolen time. For defendants and public representatives who spent hours at court sessions to make the work of the machinery of justice transparent, the courtroom and the cage would inevitably become a familiar and in some sense even cosy environment. The Cage is built on contradictions between freedom and repression, firmness and softness.
